2023 top Christian publishers accepting manuscripts – If your 2023 resolution includes publishing a book, then you’re in the right place!
First, let’s address a question an editor friend asked when he learned Kharis Publishing was about to put this list online for authors: “Why are you doing this? As a publisher, shouldn’t you be directing authors to your site instead of leading them to potential competitors?” The simple answer is as true today as it was then: Here at Kharis Publishing, we really do want to empower authors to tell their stories and succeed. Besides, discerning authors with an important message should seek out the right publishers who are as committed to the author as they are to their bottom line.

Here is the list of our 2023 Top Christian publishers accepting unsolicited manuscripts
Kharis Publishing
As an independent traditional publisher, Kharis Publishing has quickly distinguished itself as a leader in Christian faith and inspirational book publishing. The publisher also invests in literacy resources for orphanages in developing countries. This publisher is currently accepting unsolicited manuscripts in nonfiction – Christian, memoirs, inspirational, health, and wellness. Visit Kharis submission page for instructions on how to submit a proposal.
Imprintos
If your book is not entirely Christian in nature but simply a leadership, self-help, or business manuscript, then, you may want to consider Imprintos, the business imprint of Kharis Publishing group. Imprintos is a leading publishing and distribution house dedicated entirely to helping leaders, executives, and influencers publish their book, amplify their voice in print, and document their legacy for the next generation. As with all Kharis Publishing imprints, Imprintos will donate a portion of its proceeds to build resource centers or mini-libraries for orphanages in developing countries, so that those kids may learn to read, dream, and grow.
Imprintos offers the Traditional Publishing model, which means that there is no out-of-pocket cost to the author to publish, distribute, and promote their book. But this requires authors to purchase some copies of their books for personal promotional use during the initial press run – a great option for leaders, coaches, influencers, and motivational speakers.
A major distinctive of Imprintos is that you will be assigned to a national book PR agent who works with you for media placements – TV, radio, podcast, blogs, and print media. This is an improtant service that has made Imprintos attractive to leaders, executives, and influencers who want to grow their brand in addition to selling their books.
For limited time, Imprintos is currently accepting unsolicited un-agented submissions through their website, with a focus on nonfiction (leadership, business, self-help, memoirs, health and wellness). Visit Imprintos submission guidelines here to learn whether your manuscript is a good fit.

Here is CrossLink’s submission page.
Baker Books
This publishing house has 6 imprints, and each one publishes slightly different things.
- Baker Books — this is nonfiction. It focuses on thoughtful treatments of Christian living. They also publish big blogger names and pastor resources. It’s the biggest imprint of Baker.
- Baker Bravos — This also publishes academic work, but it’s aimed at those both inside and outside academia. So overall, it has slightly more accessible themes, while remaining scholarly.
- Revell — this is mainstream fiction, aimed at the widest possible audience. Although there are religious themes, the storylines and characters are still accessible to a secular audience.
- Chosen — this is what Baker calls a “spirit empowered” imprint, which means they publish material which is charismatic or Pentecostal.
- Bethany House — they publish ABA fiction, which means it has stronger religious overtones, with a strong moral code. It’s more conservative and more religious than Revell.
- Baker Academic — This imprint is only looking for current professors or others in academia. And the work is only aimed at other academics, so if you are an academic seeking a wider audience, check out their website.
Baker only accepts submissions directly from agents, but they do accept slush pile submissions through their website/portal
