Dr. Wiley Graf is an “AAA-Rated” author whose background is as diverse as it is disciplined. Academically, he holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Akron. Athletically, he was a standout pitcher for the Zips and is a proud member of the Barberton (OH) Sports Hall of Fame. But for Dr. Graf, these accolades are secondary to his true life’s work: providing a scientific and scriptural bridge to freedom for those trapped in sexual addiction.
Drawing on his engineering mind and his personal walk with Christ, Dr. Graf has pioneered a “game-changing” approach to purity. He challenges the modern consensus that freedom is only possible through high-pressure accountability groups. Instead, he points believers back to a wholly Spirit-powered strategy. Residing in Central Kentucky with his wife, Susan, Dr. Graf is dedicated to showing the “still-struggling” that God’s promised way of escape is not just a theological hope, but a neurological and spiritual reality.

First of all, I love the title of the book A Way of Escape taken directly from I Corinthians 10:13. It’s a very unique approach for overcoming sexual sins. The author states how not to ignore the red flags, and sweep sins under the carpet of “positional truth.” “Walking in the Spirit” is the key to victory. And the author goes into detail describing what this “Walking in the Spirit” scripturally means.
I especially appreciate the author’s honesty in references to his own personal struggles and to his finding shelter in Ephesians 5:18b-19. The run-to-safety applications of “living in the Spirit” often come in the form of singing songs, hymns, and spiritual songs.

Most Christian authors and all builders of the higher-profile Bible-based purity programs insist that escape from a porn addiction is possible only with flesh-starving accountability. Not true! Relying only on the Holy Spirit, the Way of Escape Battle Plan shows readers how to:
- Use limbic weaponry to access and reprogram the brain
- Diffuse the flesh by “walking in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16)
- Initiate regular intimacy with the Spirit, resulting in:
- Dramatic drops in both the number and strength of “incomings”
- Mind renewal without flesh-starving accountability
The still-struggling now have another option. The still-struggling now have fresh hope for discovering God’s promised way of escape (I Corinthians 10:13). A way that—because it is wholly Spirit-powered—does not require enlisting the aid of a flesh-starving accountability partner or group. Truly, a game-changer!
